Ruby Vaughn thought her trip to Oxford was going to be a break from supernatural strangeness, murder investigations, and Ruan Kivell. However, instead of spending a quiet Christmas holiday in England's city of dreaming spires alongside her friend and employer Mr. Owen, Ruby is once again playing the role of antiquarian-turned-lady-sleuth when the body of Julius Harker is found in a stone Egyptian funeral box at his nearby museum. The police arrest Julius's business partner Mr. Mueller, but Ruby's old friend Leona Abernathy believes they have the wrong man. When Ruby agrees to investigate the crime for Leona, the one thing she never expects is that folk healer Ruan would turn up in Oxford and insist on helping Ruby find the killer.
